The Division of Gastroenterology is devoted to the clinical care of patients with gastrointestinal and liver disorders. These include peptic ulcer disease, gastro-esophageal reflux disease, gastrointestinal bleeding, functional gastrointestinal disorders, inflammatory bowel disease, pancreatico-biliary diseases, acute and chronic liver disease as well as gastrointestinal and liver malignancies. The Division of Gastroenterology provides consultation as well as performs diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for patients with gastrointestinal and liver diseases. 

Gastroenterology is the branch of medicine whereby the digestive system and its disorders are studied. 

These disorders may affect the esophagus, stomach, small intestine, large intestine (colon), rectum, liver, gallbladder, or pancreas.
