Implement and monitor Infection Prevention & Control (IPC) policies, SOPs and guidelines.
Conduct infection surveillance and monitor healthcare-associated infections (HAIs).
Perform regular infection control rounds and compliance audits.
Monitor hand hygiene, PPE use, isolation precautions and standard precautions.
Monitor sterilization, disinfection, biomedical waste management and environmental hygiene practices.
Conduct infection control training and awareness programmes for nursing and other hospital staff.
Educate patients and attendants regarding infection prevention and hygiene practices.
Identify infection control gaps and initiate corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Support investigation and management of suspected infection outbreaks.
Coordinate with clinical departments, CSSD, laboratory, housekeeping and other support services for IPC compliance.
Maintain infection control records, surveillance data, audit reports and training documentation.
Participate in Infection Control Committee meetings, quality initiatives and NABH/accreditation activities.
Promote continuous improvement in infection prevention and patient safety practices.
